The first Value Chain workshop on “business modeling” took place on 8 September at Maison de la Poste (Tour&Taxis), in
Brussels, and gathered around 20 participants representing different actors of the plastic industry value chain, from film manufacturers to plastic recyclers as well as representatives of policy and civil society networks.
This workshop was organized and moderated by Prospex Institute, who has a wide experience in stakeholders’ engagement and oversees the design and implementation of the stakeholder engagement strategy in CIMPA. Project partners IPC, Leygatech, Filigrade and EuRIC were also present in this event.
After the welcoming and an introduction to CIMPA project and its value chain, different breakout sessions were organized to analyze the elements and actors of the proposed value chain and discuss the challenges and opportunities across the value chain to support the circularity of multilayer plastic films.
The final session was devoted to finalizing the observations, recommendations, and conclusions of the workshop to support an effective uptake and implementation of the new recycling approaches and CIMPA innovative solutions.
The wide variety of organisations taking part in the workshop (companies, research institutes, industry associations, NGOs, etc.) generated rich and lively discussions and valuable inputs for CIMPA project.
The outcome of these value chain workshops will feed in WP6 “Circular economy – Economic & impact assessment” and will serve a crucial role in incorporating the point of views and visions of actors along the value chain in the exploitation and replication of the CIMPA’s solutions.
